• Could you place the Allow Comments option in the Page Attributes widget of the Add New Page section. I design websites and most of the time I need to disable it. Going to the Quick Edit take to much time and too many extra steps. Also could you have a feature where I could customize the default settings.

    Thank you

Go into your posts and edit a post you want to have no comments.

On the upper right on the screen, see where it says Screen Options? Click that.

In the ‘Show on Screen’ options, check ‘Comments’

    Then it’ll show up.

Sorry but I think you mis-understood me.
I don’t want to see the comments posted.
I want to have the option to disallow people from posting comments.
Id like the option to be located in the Page Attributes widget of the Add New Page section.

Yes, I know that. Go do what I said. It’ll show up on the Add New Page … page ?? It’s a widget called ‘Discussion’ and you have to make it active in order to use it.

    Hi Ipstenu,

It worked and I thank you

I did do what you said originally.

You said to check ‘Comments’ not ‘Discussion’

Anyway it would be much more intuitive if it was located in the Page Attributes rather than hidden away.

yeah, sorry, they changed it from the old version (like … 1.5 old). It’s been a long time.
