    The next build is currently a work in progress:

    Incomplete features:
    * address format options (for addresses without state values)
    * ical or rss (or both) calendar feeds

    Complete, but not tested:
    * timezone fix (blog timezone must be set to a city value, not a numeric offset value)
    * duration calculation on admin event detail fix
    * added filter label customization option
    * added filter to admin calendar view
    * added optional shortcode parameter to filter display of events by category_id [calendar category=3] (IDs can be found on manage categories page)
    * added optional shortcode parameter to toggle the calendar view between week and month [calendar view=week]
    * added optional shortcode parameter to display a specific calendar month on load [calendar month=10]
    * added optional shortcode parameter to display a specific calendar year on load [calendar year=2012]
    * added optional shortcode parameter to hide calendar week and month buttons [calendar views=false]
    * added optional shortcode parameter to hide calendar month navigation prev and next buttons [calendar nav=false]
    * modified upcoming widget filter from number of weeks to maximum events displayed
    * modified upcoming widget format to display only start date and time
    * modified show event detail so that date/time format displays on a single line
    * added upcoming events option to toggle category colors in widget
    * added aec prefix to widgets for visual grouping
    * added donate link
    * updated help text
    * added romanian localization
    * updated norwegian localization
    * updated italian localization

    I will be releasing the beta when I complete the last few features for build 0.9.9 – anyone interested in testing a non-production ready product will be welcome to download the file as soon as I announce its availability.

    0.9.9 Update
    * added option to navigation between calendar months by scrolling the mouse wheel (disabled when calendar shortcode nav=false)
    * added optional shortcode parameter to set default filter category_id option [calendar filter=3]
    * updated french localization

    How about a widget to display a mini calendar with active dates highlighted, as opposed to a list of events?

    Don’t mean to be a pest, but if I can request one more thing before I am thrown out of the room:

    The ability to dynamically load a custom css file if it exists in the theme folder… ajax-event-calendar.css

    this way we can override the default styles and retain the mods upon plugin updates this is similar to a lot of plugins techniques…

    Regarding the dynamically loaded css file, I like the idea! I’ll look into it for a future release.

    Great calendar thank you!
    What I believe would be most helpful is the following:
    – Filter the display of each event by a user group
    – Add a custom group with select users and display the event only to that group.

    This would allow “private” meetings on the calendar that only show to select people.

    Just a suggestion ??

    I have no plans to add user groups to the calendar, but the category functionality currently available and the shortcode options coming soon will allow you to hide specific categories by calendar instance.

    You’ll be able to create multiple instances of the calendar on separate pages, then for the pages you want to filter specific events, you can password protect the page, thus making it “private”.
