• Hello all,

    This is my first query / post and I’m very much wet behind the ears on wp and most things technical (please forgive me!).

    I was uploading a post to the site this morning (www.thepennypost.co.uk) and when I looked in my posts catalogue, there are no posts showing that have been uploaded in about the last six weeks.

    There’s generally one per day put up and aside from today’s, they’re all gone as far back as the 13th of June.

    Google cache was done at around 7:30am this morning and shows the site as it appeared back around the 13th of June. It was fine yesterday at around lunchtime so it must have happened sometime between then and 7:30 this morning.

    My hosting is with 123-reg.co.uk, and my suspicions point this way.

    I’ve got copies of all the posts, so it’s no huge loss (just time consuming). Really, I’d like to pinpoint the source of the problem.

  • I saw a thread somewhere around complaining about the same problem with 123-reg.co.uk. Looks like they had a problem and had to roll back to a much earlier backup.

    This has just happened to me aswell with 123 reg. I can’t call them today to figure it out, but can you let me know how you get on please:)

    Hi Jen,

    Just been on the phone to them (used 020 8587 7558, beats paying their 0870 rates). Apparently, ‘they’re aware of the problem’ and will update via email when the situation is resolved.

    If all goes back to normal sometime before lunch, I’ll put it down to experience and just change hosting next week. However, if the site is permanently damaged, I’ll probably take some legal action if possible (I really haven’t got the time to manually re-post everything).

    Hi Jen,

    Mine’s back up now, all as normal (well, as the cached version from yesterday).

    Any joy with yours?
