Latest Posts show up at the end – still not resolved!

    My problem still has not been resolved, even with the great efforts here. Please permit me to repeat the problem and what I have done.

    My blog page opens up to the first post instead of the latest.
    I was told to go to settings/reading and make the option change there. In the screen shot, I saw the place on this page where to make that change.

    However…on my page, that option does not exist. It was suggested that the host was using the wrong myslq or an older version. I verified with them that they are indeed using the latest version.

    In my link on my website to my wordpress blog I have:

    Blog

    But if I open up my page: https://through-the-door.org and then look at the source code of this page, I see that it appends ?p=1 to my code, therefore of course it goes to the first entry. I don’t know why it does that, nor how to stop it from doing this.

    If you stare at something long enough, it eventually comes into focus. I found the problem and it is probably more confusing to explain it than it was to solve it, so I’ll humbly just say thanks for the support.
