• I just posted an item that had a link in it to a previous item from a few days ago. I was surprised to get an email saying I had a comment on the prior item – from myself. Is this expected?

Further when I went into Moderate Comments, I found the text of the so-called comment was actually every post title concatenated together between the new post and the referenced post.

Any ideas anyone? Did I do something wrong? Bug?

  • You pinged yourself. Some of the info in here might help:

But the text of the comment sounds pretty weird…

Maybe you put a link to that post on a page that lists post titles… like a TOC or “about” or on a sidebar or something? So it captured all those titles…?

Understand the pinging myself bit and yes – I can change the href for that.
@eveums – good idea but not the case. It was just a direct link to an earlier post – about four before.
The content of the comment worried me – especially as I wanted to delete it. But I have done that with no ill effect.
Looks like a bug to me probably if no one can explain it
