cookie driven header menu item

I am working on a wordpress site that has 6 pages and a custom coldfusion page for the ‘paid user’ area.

In the menu setup, there is a menu item for each page, including the custom one. All menu items show on the WP home page, and the CF page, but on all other WP pages (about, contact, etc), the custom menu link ‘My Account’ does not show.

I want to set a cookie so when a user is logged in, the ‘my account’ tab becomes ‘Logged In’, but before I can do that, I need the ‘My Account’ menu item to be appearing, which it isn’t. Any ideas?
