no longer able to upload images

    i have been using the same theme and server for the past two years. today, i went to upload images and i receive this error:The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/surfecsc/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2011/07

    i have researched this error and have done the following:

    set permission on the upload file to 777
    have tried setting the permission to 777 on each month file under the upload file
    i renamed, recreated, set permissions to 777 on a new folder for 07 uploads
    under admin>media> Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders is CHECKED
    Path under options is correct

    nothing is working.

    worked fine just the other day. no upgrades or new plugins.

    any help appreciated, please.

    forgot to add this:

    when i look in the uploads/2011/07 folder on the server the images that i tried to upload are there. but the direct path to them does not work.

    not sure if that means anything but trying to give as much info as possible.

    Do you still have enough disk space on your server?
