    Hi,

The admin receives email notification, however, the new subscriber to comment doesn’t receive the opt-in email.

    [upgraded from 1.6 -> 2.0]

    Any help appreciated.

can you provide the URL of your site so that I can test it?

    Hi

Here you go: <SNIP> (I received the admin email)

    Thanks for looking into this.

My plugin relies on WordPress’ wp_mail functionality. What hosting provider are you using? It could be something similar to this

    Please advise,

I am with WiredTree. I have not had an issue with mail getting through before, contact forms, wp notifications, db backups, the admin gets the email also.

I guess it is related to the sender. Can you use the SAME sender you see in the email you receive for the administrator? Go to Settings > Subscribe to Comments > Notifications. I bet that’s the problem ??

    Hello,

It already is set to the same sender which is the main email address for the site.

    Hello,

can you ask your provider to see if there are any pending emails and the reason why they were held in the queue? I don’t see any other reasons why the email should not be generated.

Another test is to disable your other plugins to see if it’s a conflict with one of them.

    Were you using 1.6 before?

I was using 1.6 before. In the subscribe_reloaded table there are only the previous subscribers all marked as ‘Y’. In the Settings > Subscribe to Comments > Notifications the new ones are added – but marked as ‘YC’

When manually activated they still don’t appear in the subscibe_reloaded table.

    Hello,

I have asked my provider about this and they have said there are no pending emails and everything is working as it should be on the server.

    The problem is elsewhere.

Additionally, I have deleted the entire plugin as it also broke the WP comment system whereby no comments could be made.

Yes, it seems like there’s a bug in sending the confirmation email. I am working on it. I will release a fix shortly. Thank you for pointing it out.

    Camu

I can confirm the same problem as momofone when upgrading from 1.6 to 2.0 (having followed the correct instructions). Have reverted to 1.6 (having backed-up database first) and all works fine again. Will await bugfix and dev site tests before upgrading.

Yes, reverting to 1.6 is the right choice until a fix will be available, hopefully by the end of next week. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Quick question: are your comments being held in Wp’s moderation queue? Because in this case the confirmation email is sent ONLY AFTER you approve those comments. This is to avoid unnecessary mail traffic for pending comments… In other words, double opt in and WordPress’ moderation don’t make a lot of sense together, in my opinion ??

No, my comments are not held for moderation in WP’s moderation queue, I have it set so that I get an email whenever a comment is posted.

Okay I guess I found the bug ?? would you be interested in testing 2.0.1? If so send me a message to

    https://www.duechiacchiere.it/contatto

And I’ll send you a copy as soon as I have it ready ??

    Thank you for your patience!
    Camu
