[Plugin: Multiple Category Selection Widget] 3.1.1 working fine and a question

Thanks for the update to 3.1.1. Works great with WP 3.2.1.

Here’s a usage question. If an author has applied only a top-level category to a post, how would they search for that top level category with the plugin? (The top categories are used as placeholders for each select menu.)

Perhaps there’s a way to prevent authors from selecting those categories in the post screen?
