Having difficulties backing up the complete media library located in the wordpress > wp-content > uploads directory. There is a partial backup, but it’s not the full content with all of the media that exist on the site. It appears as if the plugin hasn’t “found” the most recent media items and ignored them.

  • How big is your media directory? Currently the duplicator has a limit of 2GB for the entire package size. This is a current limitation in the PHP Zip Archive class which the duplicator uses.

If you you exclude the wp-content folder as part of the exclusion list you can later FTP all the contents up to the desired location. It’s not the ideal solution but right now its a workaround for large content folders.

If your total package size does come in under 2GB then there may be issue on your upload. If you want to submit a support ticket with the logs I may be able to help you pin-point the issue…

    Thanks

I think you’ve nailed the question. My current setup is a multi-site configuration, so I can almost guarantee that with the multiple themes, database, plugins, and media library, that the zipped archive exceeds 2GB.

Thanks for the prompt and clear response!

Same problem here. Is there somewhere in the UI that I can specify what to include and what to exclude? I can’t exactly re-locate the large files from my live site. :/ Would love to try this plugin out but can’t really unless the UI allows me to include/exclude.

    Hey kjcc,

There is an option for this. Open the options dialog and on the package tab look for ‘Directory Exclusion:’. Put the full path of every directory you want to exclude with a semi-colon to separate the various paths.

    Oh sheesh! Thanks!
