  • functions.php is a very common, but not required, file in your theme. It isn’t an ‘option’ in the admin panels.

functions.php is located in your theme folder not in wordpress folder.

If you install a new wordpress and you want to use the old template, you need to put your old template folder in wp-content/themes folder. Then activate the theme under appearance menu.

when your old theme is not available you can not access it when you want it should be available.

when your old theme is not available you can not access it when you want it should be available.

What? WordPress only ships with a couple of themes. Those themes should be available, unless a user (unwisely) deletes them. Other themes are not created or maintained by WordPress. WordPress has no control over whether they are or not available.

Unless I’ve missed something…? Is this even the same topic as the original post?
