• Hello,

I am very exasperated, since I did the updates, now my blog is almost totally non-functioning. In the admin panel there are icons and links, but they do not work. It is only one column. I can’t get to the post editing or anything that looks normal like it used to.

I read the forums suggestion on troubleshooting. I am not a technical person. I’m just someone who had this blog, and I have already put a lot of work into getting it working, and now it is wrecked. It was working fine before the latest updates.

When I look at your suggestions to fix this, sorry I just don’t have this much time. And going into php and all that. Are you kidding?
Please do not suggest editing php as a solution.
    No can do.

What do you expect people to do, hire a pro to fix this?

  • Disable all plugins and switch to the default theme. See if this works. If it does, the problem is with your theme or plugins.
No PHP editing required. Just logging into your host’s control panel and renaming some folders.

    If they need to, yes.

Do you fix your own car? Or take it to a pro?

THere are options for running websites. Some are hosted, where the help comes with the package. If you choose to go the route of a self hosted website, it does come with some responsibility, and a learning curve.

The WP devs try their best to make WP work for the vast majority of users, and it does. Sometimes things go wrong. The options are to learn how to fix the problem, or to pay somebody.
