    Hi guys,

Looking to upload multiple custom headers and make them rotate. How do I do this in Twenty Eleven v 1.2? Is there a code for functions.php that I can then activate in header.php?

    Thanks!

  • Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues.

For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

Ok, thanks. This brings up another question: Will theme upgrade notifications immediately upgrade my child theme as well? Or, do I have to make a new child theme each time there is an upgrade?

    Not your child theme.

Not your child theme – just the parent – but the changes will filter down to the child via the parent-child theme relationship. So if Twenty Eleven gets a coole feature, your child theme will have it automatically without you having to life a finger.

    Absolutely not!

I made a new child theme with TwentyEleven as parent, and have activated it. How do I now make rotating custom headers? At this time, my child theme’s folder contains a style.css, comments.php and footer.php

    Thanks!
