Linking to special information

  • I am new to WordPress, so bear with me.
    I am working on a site that will provide a lot of information and references to information.
    I would like to be able to do the following:
    1. Provide the viewer with a list of references from within a post and about the topic that they can view, or copy and paste. At times, I may want to give them a clickable link, but, in general I don’t want to provide them with numerous and immediate ways to leave my site.
    2. I would like to provide them with graphics in a popup window to illustrate a point when I don’t want to include the graphic within the post.
    3. I would like to provide them with a downloadable PDF on occasion—again for within the post.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction? Love.
