    I’ve read some of the other threads dealing with the Visual Editor/HTML tabs not working, but they seem to deal with individual installs of WP. In my case, I have several separate installs at a single webhost (iPage.com).

    All of my sites are suffering from this problem. Here’s what it looks like:

    1.) On both “Edit Post” and “Edit Page”, the “Visual” tab is highlighted and the “HTML” tab does not respond to clicks.
    2.) The text in the field where you enter your content is invisible. It is there, because when I highlight the area by dragging my cursor over it, it shows up.
    3. The editor toolbar shows the HTML buttons, not the Visual Editor buttons.

    I have tried deleting my .htaccess file in my main directory, under which all my WP installs live. No luck with fixing this problem.

    Any ideas? I’m really quite flummoxed by this.

  • Has the page fully loaded, or is it stuck before it has finished loading, when you go to add/edit a post?

    One of the problems I am having since updating to 3.1.4 is that some pages are hanging. When I go to edit a post, often the loading just continues until I get a timeout.

    The page does completely load.

    It was just a thought. Good Luck…

    On my website Human Anatomy I had once the same issue. I tried a number of things which I thought could resolve the problem. The first was that I reinstalled the latest version of wrodpress so that any bugs that might have resulted from an erroneous install will be removed. This didn’t fix the problem. Then I tried to load the pages on different connections to see whether the problem is with my internet connection but I got the same issue. Finally, I tried to load the page on a different computer and the page was fine. Eventually, I found that the problem was in my browser.
    Maybe you are having the same issue with your browser.

    I appreciate the ideas, guys.

    @ahsaniqbalkmc: I thought of that, too. I’ve tried different connections, different computers, different browsers.

    Anyone else have any ideas? Please?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress 3.1.4.

    – increasing the memory available to PHP:

    @esmi:

    -My websites all have different plugins. I *did* deactivate all plugins on one of them to see if the problem would resolve itself. Nope.

    -They all have different themes, so that was not the problem. And again, on one of them I did switch to Twenty Ten, with no luck.

    -Even tried resetting plugins folder on a site, but no luck.

    -And yes, I put fresh instances of wp-admin and wp-includes.

    -And increased memory for PHP

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Late breaking news…I just did the WP 3.2 upgrade on five of my sites and the problem is solved. Not sure what fixed the issue, but at this point this is a moot discussion.
    Hooray!
    Thanks again to each of you for trying to help.
    FYI, this is exactly what is happening to me:
    Still unresolved.
