themes and Logo's

I see several themes here I would like to try out but get discouraged because they do not appear to allow me to upload my own logo. Is this a fact? Or can I upload a logo to any theme I use. Also, if I really like a theme but want the back ground to be white ( For example, “The enchanting Spring”.) Is this easy to do?
