• I had a free wordpress.com blog and I registered the domain blazingtruth.com

I purchased a webhost (bluehost) and wish to host my blog on it in order to use the www.remarpro.com software and its plugins, etc.

I had it all up and running, changed to a red theme from a darker one and had everything working nicely, and then suddenly somehow keeps redirecting to the free wordpress.com website whenever I type in the domain.

This happened as, or shortly after, I began to fiddle with the attracta settings and other cpanel controls.

Where could the problem be located? I’m confused.

Thanks for your time and effort.

In a bluehost live chat I was told that it was working fine. everybody else can see the red theme, but I keep getting redirected to the old free wordpress.com blog as it was mapped to the domain originally.

he suggested it might be a caching problem, and after clearing my browser’s cache nothing worked. he told me to wait it out until the ISP cleared its cache. I also once got a redirecting error of some sort while i was trying to load the url.

    thoughts?

No idea, but I am bumping this because I have the exact situation happening. I originally could not get the .org site it kept sending me to .com. Then for about 2 hours yesterday I was in the .org and NOW it is sending me back to .com ??

So looking for suggestions/info about this as well.

After changing your NameServers, or DNS, it may take up to 48 or so hours before things work properly. Seeing the site properly for a while, and then not seeing it properly, is also common during that time.

When I go to blazingtruth.com I see it loading the theme with the red navbar. A reverse trace on the IP shows that it is with BlueHost, so your site appears to be working fine for me too.

If you still aren’t seeing it properly, I’d suggest waiting until 48 hours has completed and clear your cache, and also test with another web browser. If problems persist, check with your ISP and see if they are seeing the same problem.

I had an odd similar problem about a year ago. Everyone else could see my site, but me. It turned out I had a virus on my computer that was messing with the DNS for my website. It was totally weird, but I had a computer tech walk me through deleting the malware. I hope that helps in case you too had that rare issue.
