• Over the last 48 hours I have been relentlessly trying to transfer my current site digital-rebel.net to my new domain mishku.com

After much agonizing I realised a big part of the problem was that digital-rebel.net, was running on WP1.2, and mishku.com had 1.5 installed on it. So I upgraded digital-rebel.net without a hitch, and thought I was well on my way.

Anyways, so I managed to move my blog across… everything was fine except for one thing – when I log in, I don’t see the dashboard. I see the header as well as the links (Dashboard, Write, Manage, Links etc) as well as the Latest Activity menu, but everything below is not visible.

At first I thought I might have screwed up something while I was moving everything across, so I deleted everything, the install, the database it was connecting to, and simply tried for a brand new WP install on my new domain (without my old database files) and the same things keeps happening… no dashboard.

Has anyone experienced this before? It’s not a great inconvenience for me, even though I quite like dashaboard, but I’m not prepared to live with this as it means something is wrong.

    Please help!

  • Have you tried refreshing your browser (CTRL+R in Firefox) and/or clearing your cache?

I’m almost offended at the question.. ??

Yes, I have…. I have even tried using different browsers such as Opera and Mozilla… and (god forbid) IE.

    Nothing has worked,

just noticed this – dashboard displays perfectly on my old host, however, my new host (bluehost) doesn’t. could the host have anything to do with this?

I have performed two installations, one manual, in the main domain directory, and one installation via my hosting panel, which is automated, into a sub folder. Neither work…. anyone had this problem?

I think I’m having the same problem, but in IE. Everything is visible, except for the latest news happenings, etc. Sometimes I will see text if I highlight the area, but not always.

I’m thinking it has something to do with the CSS on one of the admin pages, as I saw someone post a suggestion about a CSS tweak, but I can’t find the post…

and the plot thickens. I restore my database, and when I go to mishku.com nothing shows up. something is very wrong here.

the weird thing is, on my “old” (should I say current) host, I can view everything fine, in every browser?

I have the same problem with my two blogs ( https://www.tivoblog.com & https://www.raianofamily.net ). I’m also hosting on Bluehost. Must be something with the way bluehost is setup. Any suggestions?

Hmm… this doesn’t make me happy. WordPress is the only thing I run really… It didn’t restore my site properly either….

I really don’t think that bluehost should be advertised here in the hosting section of the wordpress website if it doesn’t work for people…

I even tried their instant install and that is causing the same problem ??

I could never see the Dashboard under BlueHost. I’m having no problems with Site5 though.

This is silly. I don’t see why not… I have spoken to BlueHost and they know nothing about it…. obviously since they don’t support it, and thats fair enough, but I think if a few BH customers are having this issue it needs to be addressed.

just a comment though – I believe that if BlueHost cannot support WP so that it runs properly, it shouldn’t really be advertised as one of the hosts on the hosting section of the WP website. this is one of the only reasons I signed up with BlueHost in the first place, and I might have to swap hosts now… :/
