Blank page

I have attempted to install 3.2-beta2 several times. After uploading the files and going to the directory, I get a blank page. However, I can successfully run the install by pointing to the page directly. But then I still get a blank page when pointing to the root directory.

This is highly unusual. I also tested this running on a server on my laptop and the same result occurs. Any ideas or similar problems?
