Plugin Directory Stats – Active Versions

    On the wordpress site in the plugin directory there is a stats tab with the number of people on each version of the plugin.

    Does anyone know how often that is updated?

    On my plugin page, it tells me that there were 75 downloads yesterday when I posted up version 1.1

    However the active versions says thay everyone is either on 0.7 or 0.8. Now I appreciate that everyone who downloads does not necessary keep the plugin but I’d expect to see more people on versions 0.9,1.0 and 1.1 than the graphic implies.

    Is it as simple as the active versions is only updated once a month or something like that?

    There’s a lot of server caching going on. The stats is a nice benchmark, but not something to be used for serious data gathering to know for SURE what people are using.

    Also, IIRC this includes people who installed an older version, deleted it, and never used your plugin again. Could be wrong.

    Couple of days later and it’s all upto date. I should be able to tell from the metrics if I’m the only person using my own widget. I’m guessing there’s at least 30 who still recieving updates.
