• There are no plug-ins on my site and when I try & re-install them it says:
    Unpacking the package…
    Installing the plugin…

    Could not create directory. /hermes/bosweb26a/b1709/ipw.getanewh/public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-news-xml-sitemap/
    Plugin install failed.

If I click on the editor this is the message I get:
“There are no plugins installed on this site.
    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.”

The plug-ins do show up on the server & my hosting company says they cannot help with WordPress issues??
I am hoping someone here may have an answer???

    Thank You,
    Chris

  • It’s likely that WordPress does not have write access to the plugins folder – check the permissions.

The other way would be to install the plugins you want by downloading them in zip format, unzipping them and then uploading then via FTP.
