• Using wordpress with the buddypress plugin (1.2.8). When uploading images and/or selecting them to insert in a post I can not resize the image. All options are greyed out except for the original size of the image.

I have other installations running on the same server and then image resizing is possible. None of these use the buddypress plugin. Have deactivated the plugin but no change.

Using a child theme based on the default buddypress theme. What am I missing here?

  • Check dashboard, settings, media, image sizes. You need numbers there

    The numbers were already set e.g. 150×150, 300×300, 1024×1024

The basic debug. Disable all plugins by renaming the plugin folder. Switch to the twentyten theme. If it works add all back until it stops workings again.

Disabled all plugins, switched to twentyten theme and the problem is still there. I’ll do a clean install later on another test-site. Other suggestions, meanwhile, are of course more than welcome…

    Check your java here. https://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml

Delete the wp-includes and wp-admin folders. DO NOT delete the wp-content folder. Download a fresh copy of WP. Upload the new wp-includes and wp-admin folders to the server.

Installed java plugin and testpage shows up correctly.

I did a completely new fresh install (3.1.3) without any plugins activated and still no show. I am starting to suspect that a server change on the hosting side might be the reason.

Had server re-install gd, and now it’s working ??

My host was less responsive, so I switched hosts and all is well now.
