    An update is available for users who downloaded this theme and received this error message. The WordPress codex erroneously reflected that a second and third argument were not necessary. However, the result is that with some versions of WP, this error was generated. A newer version of this theme (1.6.7) which, is not yet available from the WordPress Respository, can be downloaded at Toms Skyline Design. It is a .zip file. So, once you download it, you simply upload it from the Install Theme tab on your Theme Admin Menu. Select upload as the option. Then activate the new version. Even if you have already setup your top and side menu, you will still need to quickly go the Menu options and re-save those menus.

  • I’m having trouble with every theme (including this one) with getting text to publish in my “About” page. I copied and pasted my home page fine from a word doc. It says it’s published, but nothing.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Based on what information you provided I can only guess at what may have caused the issue you referenced. However, when I took a look at your link I could tell the theme you are using is not Wordsmith Anvil.

    Notwithstanding, I am speculating that this relates to an issue with TinyMCE and MS Word, or it relates to themes that provide theme support and visual-editor css files for use with the visual editor. For the latter, you can locate the line in the functions.php file that says:

    add_editor_style('editor-style.css');

    and comment it out, to see if that might help. However, it is more likely that all the extraneous code that MS Word adds to your post is conflicting with the TinyMCE editor used by WordPress.

    Another option, which I am fairly certain will work, is to use the html tab, rather than the WYSWYG visual editor. Then apply the formatting you need.

    Tom ~ You’re a genius!!! I’ve been switching back and forth between themes all day figuring it was the theme. It happened on Wordsmith Anvil before I switched to another theme later today.

    Your last option “use the html tab” is what worked, along with removing all formatting. I’m glad there’s people out there like you. I’ll probably switch back to Anvil now!!!

    Thanks again,

    Buffy …

    I have just released a new version of Wordsmith-Anvil (Version 2.1) This new version includes several new options, some bug fixes and also includes the option of two different Visual Editor stylesheets. So, it may well be that using the new version will allow you to once again use the Visual Editor … unless you have grown accustomed to using the HTML tab.

    BTW, the new version is available for download on the Theme’s Downloads Page. FAQs are also available to help you setup the theme. If you have any support questions I do not check this forum as frequently as I would like. However, you can always use the Wordsmith-Anvil FEEDBACK PAGE if you would like.
