• Hi folks,

Just wondering is anyone else having trouble with Kreative themes? My website is based on their Typozine theme and currently google is warning that it may have malware. It is also giving this warning for Kreative Themes own website. Any ideas what to do?, I’m a bit wary of accessing their web page and support options now. I have twittered and e-mailed Kreative themes and am awaiting a response.

    Thanks, Colm

  • If theme you are using is obfuscated and has a callback function that shows data from their website, decode it and remove that callback (see sticky thread in this forum). Or use some other theme until problem is solved.

I’m designing for phpBB, not WordPress (not yet) and I’ve never seen people doing anything like that to phpBB styles. I wonder, what makes you and other people use themes with obfuscated/encoded code and hidden callbacks when there are good free alternatives available on this website without any junk? Is it some feature that you really want in it that isn’t available in other themes?

    Hi,

I am indeed having troubles with Kreative Themes as well. I bought the lovely Typoszine theme and paid extra for support, only to have them be totally unresponsive for over 3 weeks now. I’ve tweeted, emailed and posted in their paid support forums. At this point I’m asking for a refund.

It’s too bad because the theme is awesome!

Update: When I requested a refund, Kreative Themes responded and refunded my money almost immediately. I’m guessing they’re just going through some staffing issues ??

When I tried to look at Kreative Themes’ Furvious theme, I got a message that it is a reported attack page. This makes me hesitant to use either that company’s themes or commercial themes in general without doing some additional research and knowing more about the vendors. Should I be worried?

I’ve previously used a contributed theme for a local events website that used Drupal, but this is my first time looking for free or commercial themes for a website that uses WordPress.

I’m building a local news website, and I really like the Gabfire themes, especially the City Desk theme, but I want to make sure I’m making a good decision when and if I purchase a commercial theme. Does anyone have any theme vendors they would recommend, or are there are websites that rate these vendors by security, support, coding, etc.? I’ve found a few (Tripwire Magazine, Theme Grade), but I didn’t see anything posted on those sites related to security.

I forgot to add: I’m also doing some research on WPMU.org. Looks like a good site so far.
