I’ve recently started having problems with the title placemarker feature, where the one of the placemarkers shows literally as ‘%%sitename%%’ in the title bar.

The problem only appears to be for category titles.

The first placemarker for category titles, %%category%%, displays correctly in the title bar. The second placemarker, %%sitename%%, is the one that displays literally.

This only appears to happen on parent categories. Child categories are fine.

    Any ideas?

Anyone? Could really do with a point in the right direction, if anybody has any ideas! This one’s really baffling me.

    Fixed it myself.

After some time spent experimenting and fiddling with reverting to Headspace2, it finally occurred that placeholders don’t work in the meta title and description of categories and posts.

In TwentyTen theme. WP-SEO by Yoast caused mayhem (double site name and divider lines) on browser title area. Removed plugin and I’m good. But w/o SEO. ??

@jsp_1983 How did you fix it?

    Hi hiulit,

It’s been a while now, so I can’t quite remember! Judging by my last reply, I think I was using placeholders in Posts > Categories, which mustn’t have been valid.
