Why Did My WordPress 'Username' for Logging In… Appear in Google's Listings?
-
Hi Folks,
Quick question.
I just installed a new www.remarpro.com site about a week ago – and today upon just randomly checking Google’s search engine listings I noticed that my blog’s (which fortunately is still an empty site yet) ‘username’ (which I need to login to WordPress) was contained in the URL – for of course the whole world to see. Huh?! ??
Now, I also use Wishlist (membership software) as a plug-in and Optimize Press – all connected of course to my WP account.
It appears something like this… https://www.myurl.com/author/username/ (of course my actual details go in there).
The actual listing in Google is listed as… ‘Monthly Archives’. When I click to to this ‘Monthly Archives’ site (which of course I didn’t set up), a more or less blank WP / or Optimize Press / Wishlist Member (I’m not sure which of the 3 it actually is) comes up. It’s a webpage that comes up, but there’s nothing written on it.
Any ways, I’d like to know how to get rid of this problem (my username appearing in Google)… and ideally also to know how it got there in the first place. Is this a WordPress issue? Optimize Press issue? Wishlist Member issue? Since the later two are connected to and work out of WP, I’m assuming it’s a WordPress issue.
Any idea how I can ‘make this go away’ and make sure that nothing like that happens again?
Thanks very much for any help here, ??
