• Hey how’s it goin?

My business partner and I are just getting a blog up and running. I know this sounds like a newbie question but we’re trying to get a blog page that will have the posts in it, and then other “static” sorts of pages.

    1. are any of the pages postable? i.e. can you put posts on any of the pages you create?

    2. how do you go onto a specific page and add posts to it? When I go to pages it just lists the pages and then only gives me the option to edit whatever test is on it, not really add a new post.

    3. when I click posts it takes me to a list if posts, none of which seem to be on the pages we have up (like tabbed at the top, etc.) Indeed I don’t know where those posts are.

    what’s going on here?

    thanks a lot,

    Will

  • 1. You can set a page as your post page via wp-admin->settings->reading section.

    2. If you set the post page in a correct way, then all posts will be there and you will be able to manage posts via wp-admin->posts section.

    3. As I said, after you setup the post page in step correctly, you will see these posts can display on that page.

Cool bro thanks, got it now. However I find it dumb that you can’t choose as many pages as you want to have posts on? Why do that?

no wordpress built-in functions for that. You need to create more page templates and write the loop code there.
