Custom profile page for a theme?

  • Hi,

    I want a custom profile page for my new theme and i am wondering if i should Adding custom user fields (ie use functions.php) or make a profile template page.

    A new template page looks way more design and coding work, but it gives me more layout options i guess.

    Any good info which approach is the better one??
