updated now have error 500 when trying to access menu

  • I updated successfully to 3.1.2, and everything is working great, except for the one thing I really need to get to! In my dashboard when I click on appearance-menu I get an internal error 500. I’ve tried a number of different things– deactivating clicky plugin (which helped get rid of the error when accessing my posts)

    I greatly appreciate any advice! Thanks!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Thank you! The plugins didn’t change the menu problem, but switching to the twenty ten theme did. So, I guess I’m off to try to figure out what’s wrong with my theme!

    Do you have a recommendation for what I should do when the clicky plugin being activated causes my links to not show up on the dashboard?
