This plugin causes an issue with Simple Facebook Connect.

When both plugins are activated, it causes this error to shut down wordpress:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare comment_user_details_begin() (previously declared in /site/wp-content/plugins/simple-facebook-connect/sfc-comments.php:284) in /site/wp-content/plugins/tp/tp.php on line 564

Use Simple Twitter Connect instead. It does much the same functionality (looks like TP copied some of my code as well, although not much of it).

Also, STC works perfectly well with SFC. ??

Hi Otto! Yes, I would but there is a problem with Simple Twitter Connect and Simple Press Forums.

STC does not have the follow button that TP-Tweetpress has… can you create one like it to add to your package in the next update?

@otto sorry about that, looks like you already had the Twitter follow button in your STC package. Thanks!

Too bad there is a problem with SimplePress forums that is still unsolved. There is a thread about it in their forums as well. SFC works just fine, but as you’ve said in the past, the code should basically be the same between SFC and STC. It’s just mind boggling why one works and the other doesn’t.

SimplePress actually does some things that make it incompatible with parts of both SFC and STC. Not much I can do about it. I tried to work with the author, but I was unable to communicate what he needed to fix properly. Partly because I haven’t looked at SimplePress’s code in depth. It’s way too big for me to go and debug somebody else’s plugin.

The underlying problem is that SimplePress, like some other faulty plugins, expects the_content filter to only happen once per page/post on any given view. This is a faulty assumption, but finding out where he’s making it is trickier than it sounds.
