• I tried reading some of the posts here, but I”m still lost. I downloaded a zip file for one of the themes called, “Organize” onto my desktop. But what do I do next to upload it into my blog?

    Thanks,
    dean

You will need to upload it via an FTP client. Your hosting provider should have provided you with FTP login information.

Am I supposed the create the same exact subdirectory as have been mentioned in previous posts for my FTP?(ie; mydomain.com/wp-admin/wp-content/theme) ?

You should already have a /wp-content/themes/ directory.

It’s right here, where it’s supposed to be: https://www.myrealtyblog.com/wp-content/themes/

I feel dumb. Apparently, i typed the url the wrong way. Hence, my not seeing the entire directory. Apologies.

Well, the wp-content/themes/default folder has to be there or one wouldn’t see the default theme on your site.

You can upload files through Cpanel: from the main Cpanel index page, click on File Manager. In File Manager, navigate by clicking on the folder icons until you reach the public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/ folder. Inside that folder you’ll see other folder and file icons. Above most of those will be a black arrow labeled Upload Files. Click on that and follow the instructions….

Well, I saw the publi html folder and clicked on it. And then clicked on the black arrow that’s pointing upward and it brought me to a place where I can upload the files that I downloaded and unzipped from the theme. My question is, do I upload every file that I downloaded, which inlcudes the image folder as well?

Yes. All of them, including the images folder AND the images from it.

Do I need to create a separate folder for images or should I just upload all of it into the same “public html” folder. Because that I uploaded all of it into the public html folder. And kindly point me to a url that will show me what I need to do next after FTPing these files.thanks.

The images and theme files should be uploaded exactly as they are presented in the theme’s folder.

For example, if you have /theme_folder/theme files and /theme_folder/images/ then just upload /theme_folder/ (with all of the files in it) to the /wp-content/themes/ directory.
