Problem uploading themes

  • Everytime I try to upload a theme I recieve this error messages:

    Unable to create directory /home/adminWut/www/html/attorneyVideo/wp-content/uploads/2011/05. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    and…

    The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/adminWut/www/html/eaDemos/wp-content/uploads/2011/05.

    How do I fix this?

  • Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

    Wait, why are your THEMES going in wp-content/uploads?

    They go in wp-content/themes

    Are you using the theme uploader or the media uploader? They’re different.
