• I’ve bitten the bullet and am installing a new instance of WordPress 3.1.2 after finally giving up on Zikula (good riddance!). Of course there’s no import script, and with over 10,000 stories there was no way I was inputting them manually. I’ve spent hours and hours this week learning some of my way around myPHPAdmin and managed to successfully migrate my story fields over to the WP database.

I’ve just discovered, however, that the post_name table fields for all imported stories are empty. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to get them to automatically generate from story titles and I sure don’t want to manually create over 10,000 of them. I tried a plugin called RP Recreate Slugs but that stopped after saying that it modified 3 stories.

Any ideas out there? And please keep in mind that at this point I’m tired and brain dead and not terribly skilled at this. ??

Scratch that — it ran and it actually generated the pn_name fields for only some of the articles but it also generated a crapload of redundant “revision” versions of stories. Between that and the fact that it missed many, many stories I’m restoring the database from backup now. My problem remains.
