Category Widget Says No Categories After Import

  • I’m running into a problem where I did an import from our old blog onto our new blog and the problem I’m having here is that after doing the import all my blog and categories were imported however when I show the categories widget on the sidebar it says “No Categories” even though I have 15 categories.

    What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this.

  • Try posting a new test post in one of your categories, then check to see if that category (and possibly the other categories) show up in the list.

    It’s possible that the import didn’t trigger some necessary action to tell the categories widget that your categories exist and are not empty.

    I’ll definitely try this. When I was importing the file usually you get a confirmation message saying it’s finished. Instead all I received was a blank area where the confirmation messages usually appears. I’m wondering if the script timed out and this is what caused the issue.
