Doesn't work on a 1&1 server

  • Hello,
    First thing, after installation on a 1&1 server, the plugin appears twice in the extensions page, surprising…
    I tried to install it many times with the same result.
    After activation, the plugin seems to work, and send email, but it’s impossible to change any parameter. For example, verifying Askimet api (Askimet works properly for years on my blog), or changing any CSS code causes this message on a blank page:”Are you sure you want to do this?” with no reply possible… still surprising.
    Important to know: the plugin works very well on an EasyPhp server (5.3.2 version) (at home) with the same WordPress version, but on the 1&1 server, it’s impossible to configurate it properly…
    Have you any idea?

    WP-memory-Usage Plugin is very useful, it says:
    * Memory limit : 90 MByte
    * Memory usage : 29.29 MByte
    itsn’t a memory limit trouble

    I’ve desactivated all the plugins, except Askimet and verified Fast Secure Contact Form, changing successfully all the parameters I wanted.
    After reactivating all the plugins, it still works properly!!!

    But: the plugin still exists twice!
    I don’t know if it’s important because now, everything is working fine!
    I just have to click on the good one, the bad one breaks everything…

    It could be the theme you are using is causing it:
    Do this as a test: In Admin, click on Appearance, Themes.
    Temporarily change your theme to the “WordPress Default” theme, or “Twenty Ten” (default for WP 3.0).
    It does not cause any harm to temporarily change the theme and change back. Does it work properly now?
    If it does then the theme you are using is the cause. Possibly contact the plugin developer, maybe they can fix it.
