  • If you log into you wp-admin and go to Media -> Add New you should see “Maximum upload file size”. What comes after that? There should be a file size limit in megabytes. If that number is smaller than 28mb, and I think it will be, you will have to upload via FTP and manually create the links to the file, or up the limit if you have high enough access to server configuration, or beg your host’s tech support to up the limit for you.

    The maximum file size is 2 Mb and this file is 28 Mb.

    I’ll ask my helper if he can follow your instructions and take one of the other courses of action.

    So that you know, that file size limit is not set by WordPress. It is set by PHP. To change it you need access to PHP’s php.ini configuration file. Other server configuration values could effect file uploads also.
