• Firstly I have to say that this is a great plugin, and I have been using it from the initial days.

However since the last few days I am getting an error from my server, I get an email with a subject: lfd on server: Excessive resource usage:

I get this info in the text body:

    Resource: Process Time
    Exceeded: 295151 > 1800 (seconds)
    Executable: /usr/bin/php
    Command Line: /usr/bin/php /home/server1/public_html/nsm/wp-content/plugins/tweet-blender/ws.php
    PID: 1608
    Killed: No

I removed the the plugin, deleted the db entry, and now I have taken down the site too, still I am getting this email from my server.

Please help me resolve this. Thank you.

    Hello Byrappa,
The ws.php is the web service that acts as a receiving end for tweet cache updates.

It might contribute to heavy server load if you have a high traffic site, widget on each page, many different sources, and a very low refresh rate (e.g. refresh every 5 sec). Adjusting refresh rate or combining users into a twitter list so there is just one source instead of many can help decrease the load.

I’m not sure what’s going on if you removed the plugin completely and still getting this message. Perhaps the process is still running in memory – kill it on the server.
