    hello there,
I am using hyper cache – which is doing a great job btw.

However, in webmaster tools I am getting my sitemap.gz and then a detected sitemap.gz.gz I presume hyper cache is compressing the already compressed sitemap and Google is picking it up.

I have added various permutations in the “URI to reject” section to stop the sitemap getting cached but it doesn’t seem to work (i.e. /sitemap.gz. “/sitemap.gz”, full path etc.)

any help would be gratefully received,
    many thanks

Well I uninstalled Google xml sitemaps plugin, then reinstalled and asked for no .gz on the settings. I then asked hyper cache not to use gzip (found out my host doesn’t support it anyway!)which stops the sitemap becoming compressed, and then deleted sitemap from webmaster tools. When the new sitemap pings Google, Google ads the sitemap automatically to webmaster tools so there is no need to submit.

Hope this is useful to someone
