Changed Theme – Now site crashes every site on my host..

  • Hi guys,

    I recently changed my theme to the new “profits theme” that has just been released. Since I’ve done this, I can view about 3-4 pages on my site before it goes down and I get an “oops! Google Chrome cannot connect to site” error message. I also once got the error message that “This site has redirected too many times”. (i have tried in other browsers too)

    Also I can’t access any of my other sites on the same host..They all go down when this happens..It goes down for around 15 minutes, then it comes back but does the same thing after viewing a few pages.

    Any idea’s what’s up? It’s an authority site with around 125 posts and about 170 total posts/pages. I’ve switched some of my mini sites to this same theme and there are no problems..

    Was fine before I changed the theme but I really have my heart set on this theme.

    Maybe there’s a clash of plugins? I’ve updated and upgraded all of them including wordpress itself..Here are the plugins if it might help..

    Akismet
    Seo Search terms tagging
    Pop Up Domination
    WP Syndicator
    All in One SEO (deactivated but still same problem)
    XML Sitemaps
    cb ping optimizer (deactivated but still same problem)
    Ninja Category Plugin (Allows categories for pages as well as posts)
    GoCodes (deactivated but still same problem)

    Any help would be massively appreciated

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
