Often with multiple pictures I use a table to hold images that are cropped to the same size.

Use a different editor

You can use Windows Live Writer or MS Word

To publish directly to wordpress

I was thinking of a table.

I didn’t know you can use MS Word and such to publish to direct WP

I actually came back to visit those links as it looked useful – the one re posting direct from Word anyway.

Good to hear. The WordPress editor is limited and i have found Windows Live Writer to be easier to work with

I also use MS Word when i need something extra inserted in a blog post like a graph or diagram
