Whenever I submit a post to sites like StumbleUpon, or Digg etc. Instead of pulling the title of the post, it always pulls the title of my blog. Where do sites pull this informaton from, and how can I fix this?

    Thanks!

  • Can you provide a link to your site? What social-bookmarking plug-in are you using?

The plugins I have on my site, will pull the information correctly (the facebook and tweet buttons). It’s the share buttons that I have saved in my browser bookmarks that will pull the blog title instead of the post title. Specifically StumbleUpon and Tumblr. Or on sites like Paper.li, when my post is shown it doesn’t list the correct title.

I think I see the problem.

Your browser titles are only showing the blog title, not the title of your post. That’s where bookmarking tools usually draw the info from.

For example, on this page you should see something like “Don’t Forget About Those Little Blogging Victories | Britt Inspired” in the browser’s title bar, but instead all you see is Britt Inspired.

I see you’re using the Yoast SEO plug-in. Double-check to make sure the post title settings are correctly set there.

That did it! Thanks so much!

Awesome. If you would please mark this thread as “resolved” (drop-down menu in the right column) it would be appreciated. Helps everyone keep better track of whose issues are still outstanding. Thanks!

I’m actually still having this problem.
It shows the right post title in my browser, but when I pull it over to Facebook, it pulls “Portfolio – Lucid Path Consulting”

    Advice Please?
