Need help ASAP!!! Please!
-
Hello everyone,
I spoke to a tech support rep at my hosting company earlier today and asked them about moving my WordPress installation from a subfolder to the root. The rep did it for me. However, since then, I cannot activate any plugins at all. I’ve tried installing them through the WP admin panel and via FTP. Neither method works. Everytime I try to activate a plugin, I get this error:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Here are the actual error messages from 2 activation attempts:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘&’, expecting T_VARIABLE or ‘$’ in /mnt/r0201/d17/s14/b02845cc/www/39images.com/wp-content/plugins/simple-portfolio/simple-portfolio.php on line 237
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /mnt/r0201/d17/s14/b02845cc/www/39images.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-portfolio/wplib/utils_formbuilder.inc.php on line 47
As you can see, it’s always a parse error. I did not have this issue prior to the tech support rep moving my installation to the root directory. I’ve called them back numerous times and submitted a help ticket and they seem to be confused, although they’re the ones who caused the problem. I need this issue fixed ASAP, as it is greatly affecting my ability to add my portfolio to my website.
Please let me know what to do!!
Gary
