• Hi,
I have just installed a cleaned version of wordpress throught Softaculous and most of the metaboxes in post and page are hidden (excerpt, user, etc…)
    Any idea why this happened?
By the way, I already have two other wordpress blogs installed in the same server and they are also 3.1 version and are working just fine.

    I finally solved it.
It must have been a bad instalation. And the re-install was always the same, so I compared the database with my other two blogs and found in metauser table the following metakeys:
    – metaboxhidden_post
    – closedpostboxes_post
So I just copied the value from my latest blog and it is working just fine.

    oops! not resolved apparently.
This morning while editing a post the site turned blank.
Need to start again from scratch…
Does anyone know what could be happening here?

Did you modify any PHP file ?

Some of the meta boxes are switched off by default in 3.1 to create a cleaner layout. Simple add them back using the ‘Screen’ option in the top right.

I did not change any PHP files, and I also do not have a Screen option in the top righ. All I have is the regular stuff ‘log-out’, ‘New Post’ combo with some options but no ‘Screen’.

I was able to import my databse, changed a couple of values in the database to be able to use it and it seems to be stable.

Thanks for your help, and about that ‘Screen’ options I will try to find them. They will come in handy soon.
