[Plugin: Postie] Feature request: Assign email posts to a custom post type

    I’m currently using Postie to send status update or microblog type messages to my blog. I’m considering using custom post types for this purpose instead of simply assigning microblog posts to a specific category. Could you offer some guidance on what code changes would be needed to get this working?

  • Just a suggestion. What about using post formats instead, and underneath the Writing settings, change your default Post Format to ‘Status’. This way anything you post via Postie will come through as a status update, and when you write a regular blog post, change it to Standard before you publish it.
