• Hi I am a newbie to WP – just transferred my s9y blog over and found a nice theme Paper3 – it came up on dashboard under new themes and it looks great in Firefox. About 4 hours work fine tuning and checked in IE and it looks lousy – no background image and even background colours go mad.

I checked with the developers page https://html5beta.com/wordpress/paper3-a-new-wordpress-theme/comment-page-1/#comment-164 and well down under the description it says 0.no images!all ui by css feature,do not support old browsers, such as ie6 ie7 ie8.still work ,but ugly.

It would have been nice if the WP template install description had suggested an IE issue ?? – is there any vetting of themes or just user beware?

  • Not even the themes in the Theme Repository are routinely checked in older browsers.

This is IE8 not exactly an old browser – the response from the theme creator was “if you care about ie users, better not use this theme.”

My point is that I think this should be disclosed clearly in the preliminary theme description
