Moving blog from example.org/blog to example.org/

I’ve been running a blog on my site but didn’t use the main url, e.g. example.org, instead, I ran the blog on example.org/blog

I now wish to move it to example.org — how do you guys recommend I do that? I’ve looked into .htaccess redirect, but was wondering if there are alternative ways of doing it?
