• Well it’s official I’m a dumb-ass!

    ??

    I deleted the default “Pages” category from my link categories section of the WP Admin panel. Now I need it back. How can this be done. My pages function now works (after some fiddling around)..that is the pages links are shown on my site as I add NEW pages…but there is no way to edit them (the links) or add external URLS to THAT category.

    Can anyone help this moron out?

    I don’t think you know what I mean. The PAGES LINK category does not show up in the admin panel. So I cannot control what links are displayed under “Pages” in the sidebar.

    Oh. Sorry, misunderstood. Can’t help you though, don’t use Pages and hadn’t ever noticed a pages link.

    Well, if I understand well… hmmm… the Pages list in your sidebar is NOT managed by the Links Manager in your admin panel.
    That list is simply called by a template tag in your sidebar:
    <?php wp_list_pages(); ?>
    unless you made some major modifications in your WP install.

    Huh…I thought before I was able to add links to “Pages” that were not Pages generated by WP. I guess I was wrong.

    Anyway…I “fixed” it by adding a category with the name of “+”. This allowed me to list my WP external links just below my “Pages” list but above my “Links” (renamed “Linkage”) list.

    Glad you were able to get a fix. I just wanted to say that I really like your header. Very quaint ??

    Didn’t think there was anyone else in this WORLD who loved some of the pics from the “first Hobbit movie”!

    Oh. Light dawns. Slowly, because I am SENIOR AND BLOND….

    You meant the “blogroll” that comes default with all the links to the WP devs etc., right? You renamed that to something else and deleted all those links?

    Thanks jennmiller & vkaryl. I grew up on Rankin & Bass’s Hobbit. I love it. I seen that before I even read the book. The pic on the right is from the other Rankin & Bass Tolkien move: “Return of the King”.

    And not I didn’t rename the Blogroll…I mean the default Pages Links.
