    Hello,

I’m using WP 3.1 with multisites.

On the last blog created, i can add some widgets but some others can not be registered. By example, i can add the tags widget but if i add the categories widget and save it, when i come back on widgets, categories are disappear in available widgets…

do you have an idea why and how can i resolve it ?

I could modify it un database but i don’t understand how is working value for sidebar_widgets and widget_categories…

    Thanks,
    Julien

    What theme are you using?

    And disable your plugins.

Widgets work fine and are saved fine in multisite. So the issue is your theme or plugins. (or the server).

    Hello,

I have not this issue on 3.0.X

I have set up a new network with a fresh installation on 3.1.1 and i have the same issue. I tried top disable all plugins but same issue. I put then Twenty Ten theme for the same issue too.

    I don’t understand…

PS : By example, impossible to place the “categories” widget from available widgets but i can place this widget from disabled widgets. In this last case, i can’t check show as a list or show number of articles. When i save it, it comes back to unchecked values.

    Thanks

Did you disable ALL plugins? In both plugins and mu-plugins folders?

    Thread Starter chatchat

    (@chatchat)

    All plugins are under wp-content/plugins

I disabled all by go to wp-admin/plugins.php but without better success ??

@chatchat: going to wp-admin/plugins.php won’t necessarily disable all plugins. Try going to /wp-admin/network/plugins.php and make sure all of those are disabled too.

If you have FTP access, you could also go in and rename the /wp-content/plugins folder.

I went to try this and yes, plugins are disabled but same issue on my theme or Twenty Ten, it’s a real mistery…

Did you try a different browser?

Did this EVER work or did it just stop working one day?

I can’t understand, i have the same issue on FF4 or Safari 5 or Chrome 10.

I set up a new WP installation with networks on and just setup (after the main blog) 1 blog (id of website = 2).

Are you trying to say that if you upgrade your other, working, site to 3.1 this happens there too?

If they’re on the same server, I’m inclined to think it’s database sehannanigans. Can you check that your tables are all MyISAM?

    Thread Starter chatchat

    (@chatchat)

Yes, same issue with upgrading another installation to 3.1.

I checked that and all tables are in MyISAM.

DBs are UTF-8 or Latin-1 (should be UTF)
