• Hi All,

I host my test (first) wordpress site on my Synology NAS, sadly due to were I live I have a naff Sky ADSL router, and every now and then it decides to re-assign the IP of my NAS.

Since my NAS has been given a new address I cannot get to the admin login page, and the blog renders with no theme loaded.

As this is the first time I’ve worked with WordPress or PHP (I’m a .NET man normally), all I can presume is that part of the admin auth process is to check the refering URL, and as it orginially was 192.168.0.2, it won’t authenticate against 192.168.0.2

Sadly getting @ my Sky router admin pages isn’t an option as Sky won’t give me the details.

    Any help would be appreiated.

    Cheers

    Carl

  • If the Synology Nas configuration utility allows you to set a static ip for the device, that might be the easiest solution. Setting 192.168.x.x on the Nas would probably force reassignment of the same internal ip address.

Luckily I managed to find on the web my router’s login details, and associated a static IP to my NAS’s Mac address.

Rebooted my NAS, worked a treat.

Little concerned for the near future though, as I’m only using my NAS box as a sandbox, I want to development my site on it, wrap it up and deploy to a hosted WP hosting company.
