help with the news posts

I am building the website

https://www.staywarmenergy.co.uk and I am having serious issues trying to get the news feed feature I am building to show the excerpt correctly, although every other attribute displays correctly such as the time and the title of the post so I know the loop is working ok and I am just stumped and have been for hours. I would really be grateful if anyone can point out what is going wrong! Thanks in advance, here is my code for the side bar that is loading the posts,, if you click on a post or ‘news’ heading you will be taken to that particular post without a problem and you will then see the actual content differs from what is beign retrieved and displayed on the home page, it seems that it is displaying the same content as that of the parent page.
